About CinemaViva

CinemaViva is a full-service digital video production company located in downtown San Diego. Horacio Jones, founder of CinemaViva, brings with him 11 years of experience in the music, audio, and video worlds.

Horacio began playing the guitar when he was 13 and studied classical guitar with Stanley Yates and Tom Johnson. He received his Bachelor of Music in music composition from the University of North Texas College of Music, which is acclaimed for its electronic music department. Having access to the College's sophisticated equipment and software offered Horacio advanced training in electronic music composition. He has played with a variety of ensembles including the North Texas Guitar Ensemble and the UCSD Guitar Ensemble. One of his main passions is contemporary Latin American pieces for solo guitar.

During his senior year at UNT, Mr. Jones began working as a video editor and Master Control Room Operator for American Independent Network. There he learned tooperate all of the equipment necessary to make films, and commercials including editing and camera techniques. With this knowledge, Horacio composed a short film that was played at his senior recital and produced a video of his senior recital.

Horacio has worked as an Instructional Technology Specialist at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Ft. Worth, as a Video Editor/Compressionist for the UCSD School of Medicine, and is now currently a freelance filmmaker/editor in San Diego shooting, directing, and producing documentaries, short films, instructional videos, infomercials, and music videos.
